In the days before we knew how to grow grain, it was trees that filled our stomachs with fruit.

Luminous trees take root on paper in this new collection of art prints. Rendered in the intricate Pardhan Gond style from Madhya Pradesh in central India, these illustrations were originally featured in one of our bestselling titles, The Night Life of Trees.

Each print is silkscreen-printed by hand on paper recycled from cotton waste. The silkscreen process is a classic technique of printing where layers of ink are transferred onto the surface of paper through mesh screens. The process requires precision and care, each print contains as many layers as it does colours.
